Can I get a Drum Roll Please!?

Every Saturday after prayer in youth, Mr. Tyler sings "Onward Christian Soldiers." Although sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who sings along with him, the song helped inspire our name. In the beginning we talked about being just that, but it later changed. Please welcome, The OSC: Oregon Soldiers for Christ.

Who are these soldiers? Who is this army? Well lets take a moment while I answer your questions...

We are a group of twelve people (3 leaders, 9 kids) who all share one common goal: to "go into all the world and preach the gospel" -Matthew 16:15. The first step to go into all of the world, is to start off closer to home, and this is what we, and the other Pioneer Boot Camp groups are doing.

The OSC is going to Oregon. It is a 23 and half hour drive there and about the same amount of time back, so we will be on the highway for a total of 48 hours. We are prepared no doubt, and we can't wait to see what God is going to do once we get there. Now that you have been introduced to our army, as a whole, it is time for you to learn who these 12 soldiers are:

The Leaders-

-Pastor Marshall and Ms. Cherise
-Chris Richie

The Maggots-
-Melissa A.
-Priscilla T.
-Dayanna M.
-Daniella T.
-Isaiah D.
-Evan J.
-Michael C.
-Landon O.
-Kevin T.

With only nine days until our group departs, we are all pumped up. We have all spent so much time together since we found out we were going to Oregon. We have had a couple of days where we all got together and watched these sermons on "The Truth Behind Hip Hop." These unofficial meetings helped us learn more than just what music we need to get rid of, but it opened doors for us to talk about witnessing, discipleship, and so much more. It was an awesome bonding experience for us, so we are all looking forward to traveling with eachother.
This is going to be an interesting trip, but we won't forget it.

It's Almost That Time, Again!

It's amazing the think that about 11 1/2 months have already gone by since we pulled into the church parking lot with 6 vans full of dirty clothes, trash, a bunch of tired teens and leaders, and a week worth's of testimonies and stories that we will carry with us the rest of our lives. We are about to embark again on PBC. We've been planning for months, and are getting the last few things together before we pack up to make an impact for the Kingdom of God in the five cities across this side of the USA. We are excited, we are psyched up, and we are ready to see what God will do.
For anyone reading this; whether a teen, a leader, a parent, a church member, we ask for your prayers that the Spirit of God will go before us, with us, and remain behind us; that hearts would hear, receive, and remain. It's going to be a great week!
